Ever since she was seven, Julia has dreamt of becoming an actress. Whilst pursuing her dream, she is also grappling with a difficult question: how openly can she express her Jewish identity when anti-Semitism is on the rise?
ROUTE 310
London bus route 310 connects two Jewish neighbourhoods directly. Against a backdrop of rising anti-Semitism, it also symbolises Jewish people’s concerns about their safety in everyday life.
POLINA
For Polina, home is not a country – it is the streets, the people and the memories that feel familiar. Born in Moscow and raised in Germany, she has found her own sense of belonging as a European.
DANI
Dani is a Jewish filmmaker in Germany, where a sense of belonging has never been a given. Sometimes he feels he belongs, sometimes he doesn’t. This tension also shapes his work and the stories he tells.
MARTIN
Martin Moszkowicz is one of Germany’s most successful film producers and can look back on a career spanning several decades, during which he has made countless films, including in Hollywood. He talks about successes and setbacks, and about why, in the film business, you never really know what’s coming next.
NOGA
Internationally acclaimed, yet largely overlooked in Germany, the Israeli photographer Noga Shtainer has made Berlin her home. Through her lens, she explores identity and the beauty of being different. Inspired by Leonard Cohen’s „Anthem“, she searches for cracks through which light can shine.
ANJA
Through powerful images of Ravensbrück, Holocaust survivor and author Anja Lundholm traces her journey from unimaginable horror to words that will endure. A deeply personal reflection by one of Germany’s most important eyewitnesses to the Holocaust.
ZEEVI
For Zeevi, food is about more than just cooking. It’s about family, tradition and hospitality. In Berlin, he brings these influences together – even though speaking Hebrew in public no longer feels as natural and safe to him as it used to.
DAPHNA
Daphna works as an animator and lives in Amsterdam. However, she does not really feel at home there. Her works also often shed light on the meaning of home.
MIKKI
Mikki processes the formative experiences of his childhood through his art. As a stage designer in the theatre, he has found his medium of expression - but he is constantly fighting against the simplistic cliché of the „Token Jew“, the model Jew.
LUNA
Luna is a DJ and lives in London. Music characterises her everyday life. Since 7 October 2023, she has made a conscious decision to come to terms with her Jewish identity.
TATIA
As a researcher and educator, TATIA makes Holocaust history accessible to young people - through picture books. In doing so, she always asks herself the question: What does it mean to always live with a packed suitcase?

60 seconds
the encounter
60sec.mentsh is a documentary series about Jewish life in all its facets. Each episode tells the story of a person who feels connected to Judaism in precisely crafted 60 seconds. Personal, approachable, surprising.
In one minute, we learn what drives this person, we hear about his dreams and also about his challenges.
With our films, we offer moments of encounter that overcome boundaries and create space for empathy. And perhaps they even make us question our own images and prejudices.
60sec.mentsh is a platform for dialogue and understanding. A digital space that shows that Jewish life is vibrant, diverse and a natural part of our European society.
About the exhibition
Pride and Prejudice
- Focus on Jews
The exhibition „Pride and Prejudice – A Focus on Jews“ is a joint project between the Neue Synagoge Berlin – Centrum Judaicum Foundation and the association Jüdisches Leben in Europa e. V. (JEWLIF), curated by Jonathan Guggenberger.
From 28 August to 17 November 2026, the exhibition will be on display at the Stiftung Neue Synagoge Berlin – Centrum Judaicum, Oranienburger Straße 28–30, 10117 Berlin.

The collaboration with the director Nico Beyer marks the start of our exciting documentary film series about Jewish life.
Nico Beyer is an internationally acclaimed director with a distinctive visual style, who has brought to life a wide range of projects from Super Bowl commercials and music videos to social impact campaigns. He has worked with brands like BMW, Adidas, Nike, and Coca-Cola and is currently directing a documentary about the Mod subculture in England.

The films are shot all over Europe. Our aim is to show a broad picture, a cross-section of Jewish European society.
